Vår gets clearance to remove North Sea Jotun platform

Vår Energi has received consent from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to remove and dispose of the Jotun B platform in the North Sea.

In addition, the PSA has authorised Equinor to use the semi-submersible Transocean Spitsbergen for top hole drilling as part of the ongoing Gullfaks Satellites (GFS) development in the same sector.

The 20-day programme, started on the 1st June, involves top holes for wells 34/10-Q-2, 34/10-Q-3 GFS Rimfaksdalen ahead of production drilling.
