We have worked with a large rubber products manufacturer that suffered two major fires at two separate plant locations. We assisted them with resolving coverage issues as well as working with the insurer and adjuster to validate business decisions and costs and negotiate on interim and final settlements.
My name is Shane Olson, President/owner of Shercom Industries. We have had the misfortune of having two fires in separate locations in a single calendar year (2016). Both fires resulted in total loss of equipment and inventory.
As I began to wade thru the insurance policy, and the required workload, it soon became an exceptionally burdensome task. A good friend of mine recommended I talk to Longdown|EIC to help. I was hesitant at first. I was in new territory and constantly being canvassed by ‘ambulance chasers’. I thought I should call Longdown out of respect for my friend and also due diligence.
I extended an invitation to Mike Roper of Longdown and we met shortly after. Present at our meeting was my business partner and our lawyer. The meeting went well enough that we decided to move forward and hire Mike and his Team.
In retrospect, I cannot imagine ever having settled our claim without the tireless efforts of Mike and Nick. They led the battle and required minimal work from me. Their approach was non-confrontational yet exceptionally effective. Their great reputation in the insurance world also helped expedite the process. Our insurance company was never allowed a moments rest. Insurers has to do their due diligence, but from the get go they knew Mike and Nick were correct in their assessments, and in their asks. Hiring Longdown is one of the best business decisions I have made. I not only highly recommend their services; I will say it is a mistake not to.
We also assisted a cement manufacturer that suffered significant fire damages and were struggling to get back into business. The insurance coverage was confusing to them and keeping track of costs incurred against insurance payments was proving a challenge. We helped manage the process and worked with the adjuster while the company was able to get on with their business and make decisions that helped mitigate the effects of the loss.
