Premier Oil hires Hakuryu-11 jack-up for Indonesia ops
Japanese offshore drilling company JDC has entered into a drilling contract with Premier Oil for the provision of the Hakuryu-11 jack-up drilling rig.
JDC said on the 26th November that the contract was awarded by Premier Oil Natuna Sea B.V. to JDC’s subsidiary company, P T Japan Drilling Indonesia.
The company added that the deal was awarded to both P T Japan Drilling and a shipping company in Indonesia.
The Hakuryu-11 was contracted for four firm wells. It will work approximately 173 days offshore Natuna, Indonesia. JDC also said that the contract was estimated to begin around March or April 2019.
In July 2018, JDC’s rig started drilling under its contract in Vietnam with the Hoang Long Joint Operating Company and Hoan Vu Joint Operating Company.
The Hakuryu-11 was scheduled to move to H5-WHP located in Te Giac Trang (TGT) offshore field following the completion of the drilling.
The rig is of the KFELS Super B Class and is a three-leg self-elevating cantilever type drilling rig. It has a maximum operating water depth of 425 feet and a maximum drilling depth of 35,000 feet.
The Hakuryu-11 was constructed by Keppel FELS Limited, Singapore, in May 2013.
