Petrobras starts production from Carioca FPSO in Sepia field

Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has started oil and natural gas production from the Carioca floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, the first platform in Sepia field, in the Santos Basin presalt.

 

The platform lies some 200 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in water depths of 2,200 metres.

 

The FPSO has capacity to process 180,000 b/d of oil and 212 MMcfd of natural gas.

 

The project foresees the interconnection of seven producing wells and four injection wells to the FPSO.

 

Petrobras operates the Sepia area on Block BM-S-24 with 97.6% interest. Petrogal Brasil SA holds the remaining interest.
