North Sea Verbier well scheduled for early next year

Equinor has informed partner Jersey Oil & Gas that appraisal drilling of the Verbier oil discovery in the UK North Sea will get under way in the first quarter of 2019.

The semi-submersible West Phoenix, scheduled to drill the well, is presently working on the first of four wells of a drilling campaign for Equinor.

Verbier, discovered in 2017, is in block 20/5b in licence P.2170 in the UK central sector.

At the time Equinor estimated recoverable resources in the range of 25-130 MMboe.

The purpose of the planned appraisal well is to firm up the potential volume range.
