Lukoil close to completing second-stage Filanovsky wells
Lukoil has brought onstream the fifth well at the second-phase development of the Vladimir Filanovsky field in the northern Caspian Sea.
The length of the main wellbore of the bilateral production well is 2,956 metres (9,698 feet), with a lateral section of 1,735 metres (5,692 feet).
Initial flow exceeded 3,300 metric tons/d (3,637 tons/d) of oil. Overall production from Phase 2 is at a plateau level of 6 MM metric tons/yr (6.6 MM tons).
Lukoil plans to start drilling the sixth production well shortly. In total there will be six producers and two injectors under Phase 2.
At the same time, work continues on the third development phase.
In August the substructure of a new wellhead platform was installed at the field and construction of the topsides is currently more than 70% complete: this will be installed next year.
Vladimir Filanovsky’s recoverable reserves are estimated at 129 MM tons (142 MM tons) of oil and 30 bcm of gas.
All offshore facilities have been constructed at Russian shipyards.
