IOOC produces oil from third Abuzar reservoir offshore Iran

Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has produced oil for the first time from the upper Asmari reservoir of the Abuzar oil field in the Persian Gulf.

 

Javad Rostami, head of Petroleum Engineering, told news service Shana that based on plans to drill five to eight wells, production of 6-10,000 b/d could be achieved from the reservoir.

 

Previously, production at Abuzar had focused on the Ghar reservoir, thought to hold 4.03 Bbbl in place) and the Dammam reservoir (138 MMbbl in place).
