Equinor to drill Egyptian Vulture prospect

Equinor Energy AS has been given consent to drill exploration wells 6407/1-U-1 and 6407/1-1-9 in the Norwegian Sea by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA).

The Egyptian Vulture prospect will be drilled in production licence (PL) 939 by the West Hercules semisubmersible drilling rig in 301 metres of water to test the Lange formation.

The wells are expected to spud in July with a duration of 39 days.

Equinor is operator at PL 939 (70%) with partner PGNiG Upstream Norway AS (30%).
