Liuhua 29-1 offshore China close to first gas deliveries
Commissioning has finished of facilities for the seven-well Liuhua 29-1 project, the third field developed for the Liwan Gas Project offshore China.
According to Husky Energy, the company and partner CNOOC achieved start-up two years after project sanction and US$100 million below budget, despite COVID-19 restrictions and associated global economic volatility.
They expect to deliver first gas to customers in early November.
The 29-1 field is tied into existing infrastructure at Liwan, which includes the Liwan 3-1 and Liuhua 34-2 fields in block 29/26, roughly 300 km (186 miles) south-east of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
So far this year, production from the two producing fields at Liwan has reached 390 MMcf/d of natural gas and 16,000 b/d of associated liquids.
Husky anticipates total production in 2021 of 450 MMcf/d and 17,500 b/d.
