Sinopec starts building LNG tanks at Tianjin

According to the latest Reuters report, Sinopec has started building LNG tanks as part of the second phase of its Tianjin LNG terminal project.

 

The plan for the second phase of the project is the construction of five LNG tanks, each with a storage capacity of 220 000 m3, and a berth for LNG vessels.

 

The project is due to be completed by the end of 2021, by which time the terminal’s capacity will have been expanded to 10.8 million tpy.

 

The current capacity of the terminal is six million t.

 

Tianjin terminal has received 11.21 million t of LNG since phase one of the project launched in March 2018.
