Well-Centric Buys Simmons Edeco Europe

Well-Centric, a FrontRow Energy Technology Group company, has announced the acquisition of Simmons Edeco Europe.

The deal will create the UK’s largest independent supplier of well integrity services, Well-Centric highlighted in a statement posted on the company’s website on the 5th December.

The combined entity will trade under the name Unity, will employ more than 120 members of staff and plans to make several new appointments, Well-Centric revealed.

“Together we are a great fit, having expertise and experience with all types of wellhead equipment, regardless of the original manufacturer,” Gary Smart, Unity CEO, said.

“As a dynamic independent provider, we are obsessive about the quality and speed of our work and determined to help our customers assure the integrity of their wells while reducing their costs,” he added.

“Together we are also a stronger, more resilient market player, with a full-service capability and a growing technology portfolio. With Unity we now have a strong base from which to grow our business across Europe and beyond,” Mr Smart continued.

Stuart Ferguson, CEO of Unity’s parent, FrontRow Energy Technology Group, said, “we are excited to see the formation of Unity as part of our group.

“All of our companies share a common purpose; to drive down costs for our customers by applying innovative technologies and ways of working,” he added.

Last month, Well-Centric announced that it was continuing to grow and unveiled two new appointments; Craig Morrice (finance director) and Derek West (client account manager – onshore services). The company announced the appointment of a new business development manager in April.

Well-Centric, which describes itself on its website as a “leading independent specialist in well integrity solutions for the global oil and gas industry”, is based in Aberdeen.
