Lloyd’s Market Association Taps Ascot’s CEO Brooks as Chairman

Andrew Brooks, chief executive officer of Ascot Underwriting Ltd, has been appointed the next chairman of the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), with effect from the 1st January 2019.

 

Mr Brooks, who has served on the LMA board as a member since 2012, will succeed Neil Maidment, who will be retiring as chairman at the end of the year.

 

David Gittings, chief executive of LMA will be standing down  at the end of the year after 12 years in the role, to be succeeded by Sheila Cameron.

 

Marsh appoints offshore and US captive practice leaders

Marsh Captive Solutions has appointed Julie Boucher to assume direct leadership of Marsh’s Bermuda, Cayman and Barbados captive officers in the newly created role islands practice leader.

 

Concurrently, Chris Varin has been appointed to the role of US practice leader, assuming oversight of Marsh’s US captive management offices.

 

Both of these senior leadership changes are effective the 1st January 2019. They will report to Ellen Charnley, president of Marsh Captive Solutions.

 

Ms Boucher currently served as the Americas practice leader and will relocated to Bermuda from Vermont in her new position. She has over 30 years of experience in captive insurance, having served in a number of roles within Marsh.

 

Mr Varin has 28 years of experience in a variety of roles that have included responsibilities in operations, technology and strategy. He will remain in Burlington, Vermont.
