Gazprom orders four offshore vessels from SSC Zvezda

Russian energy behemoth Gazprom has ordered four offshore vessels from the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex (SSС Zvezda).

The contracts for the construction of the vessels were signed in St Petersburg at the Offshore Marintec Russia 2018 conference.

Under the signed agreement, SSC Zvezda will build three offshore supply vessels, which will be used for towing operations, anchor handling and cargo delivery to production and drilling platforms, and one passenger vessel for platform crews.

The completion deadlines are 2021-2024. Gazprom Flot, a specialised subsidiary of Gazprom, acts as the contract owner.

The Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex is being constructed in the Primorye Territory on the basis of the Zvezda Far Eastern Shipyard.

The project involves the construction of a heavy outfitting berth, a dry dock, full-cycle production shops, and shops for the setting up of offshore marine facilities.

SSС Zvezda will build large-capacity vessels, components for offshore platforms, ice-class vessels, special vessels, and other marine equipment.
