Gazprom Neft drilling follow-up well to offshore Sakhalin discovery

Oil reserves at Gazprom Neft’s Neptune field offshore Sakhalin Island have risen to 415.8 million metric tons (458.3 million tons), according to the latest estimate from Russia’s Federal Agency for Mineral Resources.

Gazprom Neft discovered the field last year with a well 55 kilometres (34 miles) north-east of Sakhalin in 60-70 metres (197-229 feet) water depth on the Ayashsky licence block in the Sea of Okohotsk.

Currently Gazpromneft-Sakhalin is working on a second well on the block.
